AI & ML
Kaggle

I love Kaggle for its interactive, sandbox approach to learning AI and ML topics such as machine learning, Python, Pandas, Data Visualization, Feature Engineering, SQL, Computer Vision, Data Cleaning, AI Ethics, and Geospatial Analysis.
There is a large library of searchable datasets, models to work from while learning. At the time of this writing, there were over 59K+ datasets to choose from.
Some examples are IMBB movie review for sentiment analysis, Amazon Fashion 800k+ user reviews and Lung Cancer Prediction. These are realistic and ready for processing!
Kaggle is intended for learners, developers AND researchers. This is a slightly different take on learning environment models. The main menu has sections for competitions, datasets, models, benchmarks, gaming, coding, discussions, and other opportunities to engage. Kaggle reminds me of a social media company as well with a touch of gamification.

DataCamp

DataCamp is an online repository of skills-building courses. Their mission is to “democratize data and AI skills for everyone.” They also offer DataCamp “code-alongs” which give you interactive sandboxes to practice what you learn in the tutorials and courses.
Some courses are free and others are nominally priced billed through monthly or annually. They have pricing for individuals and for teams as well. So, you could go in with friends to more access to their course library and industry-based certificates.
Coding
SoloLearn

I found out about SoloLearn recently and tried a few courses there. Their courses focus on coding – Python, SQL, HTML, CSS, Java, Javascript, and PHP to name a few. The courses are actually a collection of interactive lessons with quizzes.
The courses are free and offer a certificate at the end. There is a PRO version that offers more sandbox time for programming practice and project time.
Coding
W3 Schools

Love this site as I have been using W3 Schools for years. HTML, CSS, Python, SQL, Angular, Java, C++ and so much more. Each course has a video tutorial explaining the language and its uses.
Courses are free and in bite-sized interactive lessons. I love that there are direct links for the topics allowing you to jump to your desired topic. There is a reference library where you can look up a command which is helpful to go back to once you work in the language. Finally, you can get certified in each language by paying about $100 for the online exam. Most are multiple-choice with 2 attempts to pass. not a bad deal for the value.
Data Management
Data Governance
DataVersity

DataVersity has plenty of FREE virtual webinars to attend. Courses are recorded and give you access to slides in most cases. You can mingle with professionals in the field and learn about best practices at many companies. The courses can be pricey (> $1K’s) but you can find some good courses in data management for $100.

Through its Grow with Google program, Google offers career certificates in the topics given on the left.
Google partners with online learning platform, Coursera to offer training in less than 6 months and less than 10 hours per week for most subjects.
You can do these with no degree or experience required. These certificates cost a nominal fee.

LINKEDIN Learning

The LinkedIn Premium account (as of 2021, $32) gives you access to video-based courses in business, technology and creative arenas. LinkedIn also offers learning paths which are guided pathways of courses to take.
LinkedIn courses allow you to “skill up” and immerse yourself in a new topic and/or career path.

Library Science & Information Management
Library Juice Academy

The curriculum of courses at LJA is designed by librarians for librarians. I try to take a course each year at LJA. The course times are short from 4-6 weeks and are taught by professionals in the field. LJA also offers certificates if you like. Best of all – these courses are nominally priced and will not break your wallet.
My advice:
Try their sample course to see if this works for you.
